From first brief to a clear creative direction.

Atlantic Sets provides set design services from concept to construction drawings for events, exhibitions, brand activations, film, television, retail and live performance. Based in Killarney Gardens, Cape Town, our design team combines creative vision with practical workshop knowledge, ensuring every design considers how the set will be built, transported and installed.

We work with clients, agencies, designers and production teams to transform initial briefs into clear, distinctive creative concepts. Each direction is developed with careful consideration of the audience journey, brand narrative, sightlines, content moments, technical requirements, budget and buildability, creating a cohesive design that balances creative ambition with practical execution.

Our designers sit beside the workshop, so every concept is checked against how it will be cut, joined, transported and installed. Renders, plans and construction drawings come from one team, which means fewer surprises between approval and load-in.

03 — Render to reality

What you approve is what arrives on site

Concept renders are built from real materials and real dimensions, so the set you sign off on screen is the set that arrives at the venue. Changes are resolved in the drawings, not on the floor.

Yes. Depending on the scope, the design package can include layouts, 3D visuals, material direction, construction drawings and installation plans.

Yes. Design-only appointments are possible, and the drawings are produced to a standard a third-party workshop can build from

Feasibility and production input start during concept development. Material choices, build methods and modular options are weighed against the budget before the design is finalised, so cost is managed by design rather than by cutting scope at the end.

Accepted file formats for briefs, drawings and renders, and the design software used in-house.
